Join our fast-paced distribution center in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Picker/Packer! We are looking for motivated individuals who can accurately and efficiently pick customer orders and prepare them for shipment. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that our customers receive their orders correctly and on time. The Picker/Packer will be responsible for using handheld scanners to locate and retrieve items, accurately assemble orders, and package them safely for transit. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment are key. You'll be working with a dedicated team focused on operational excellence and customer satisfaction. This position provides a great entry point into the world of supply chain management and offers opportunities for growth within our company.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using handheld scanning devices.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Pack items securely and efficiently into appropriate shipping containers.
- Apply shipping labels and prepare packages for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all Safety guidelines.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as required.
- Comply with all company policies, including wearing required PPE.
- The role requires consistent Lifting of packages throughout the shift.
- Understanding and following Logistics procedures is essential.
- Prioritize Safety in all tasks and operational processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or order fulfillment role is beneficial.
- Familiarity with RF scanners and WMS systems.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE and follow all Safety rules.
- Knowledge of basic Logistics principles is advantageous.
