Our logistics operations in San Jose, California, are looking for a diligent Shipping & Receiving Associate to manage the flow of goods into and out of our facility. This role is critical for maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of materials. You will be responsible for unloading incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, stocking received goods, and preparing outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding high safety standards, including proper lifting techniques and consistent use of PPE. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to operate various warehouse equipment efficiently. Join our San Jose team and play a key role in our supply chain logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks and verify the contents against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage upon arrival and report any discrepancies.
- Accurately record received inventory into the warehouse management system.
- Stock received materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and staging orders.
- Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy before loading.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
- Ensure all required PPE is used correctly at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving and shipping area.
- Communicate effectively with carriers, internal departments, and supervisors.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics and inventory management.
- Handle tasks involving significant lifting and physical dexterity.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a Shipping & Receiving role or similar warehouse position.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail for verifying shipments and inventory.
- Physical ability to perform frequent lifting, standing, and moving throughout the shift.
- Experience with safe lifting practices.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics processes.
