We are looking for enthusiastic Order Pickers to join our growing logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa! As an Order Picker, you will be instrumental in accurately and efficiently fulfilling customer orders. Your primary responsibility will be to locate and retrieve products from our warehouse shelves using RF scanners or pick lists, preparing them for shipment. This role is vital to our operations, ensuring customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order delivery. The ideal candidate possesses strong attention to detail, works well independently and as part of a team, and thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Safety is a core value, and all team members must adhere to strict safety protocols and the correct use of PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse inventory according to customer orders and pick sheets.
- Utilize RF scanning technology to track picks and ensure inventory accuracy.
- Verify the contents of each order against the customer's request to ensure correctness.
- Package items securely and appropriately for shipment, selecting the right materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, keeping aisles clear.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely.
- Report any discrepancies in inventory or order fulfillment to supervisors.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the use of required PPE.
- Meet or exceed established productivity and quality standards for order picking.
- Assist with other warehouse duties and tasks as needed to support overall logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, order picking, or logistics role is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and order forms accurately.
- Familiarity with RF scanning devices is beneficial.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to maintaining a safe work environment and following all safety instructions.
