Our Raleigh, North Carolina distribution center is seeking a proactive and experienced Inventory Control Specialist. This role is vital for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, ensuring efficient warehouse operations and optimal stock levels. The Inventory Control Specialist will conduct cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, manage inventory adjustments, and implement best practices for inventory management. Success in this role requires a keen analytical mind, exceptional organizational skills, and proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS). You will be instrumental in minimizing inventory loss and ensuring product availability for our logistics operations. Safety is paramount, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the use of appropriate PPE, is mandatory.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and full physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Manage inventory adjustments, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, causes of loss, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor stock levels, ensuring adequate supply while minimizing excess inventory.
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of all inventory items.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to maintain smooth operations.
- Ensure the integrity of data within the WMS, performing regular audits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and use required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or logistics.
- Proficiency with WMS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment is required.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to safety and adherence to established procedures.
