Our Tampa, Florida distribution center is seeking a reliable and hardworking Material Handler to join our logistics team. The Material Handler plays a critical role in the movement of goods within the warehouse, ensuring that materials are efficiently transferred, stored, and prepared for shipment. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and organizing materials within the facility. Experience with forklifts and other warehouse machinery is highly desirable. We are dedicated to fostering a safe working environment, and all employees are expected to comply with safety regulations and use the necessary PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Move materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Receive, identify, and properly store incoming materials.
- Stage materials for production or shipment according to schedules.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by verifying counts and reporting discrepancies.
- Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Perform routine checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse and logistics tasks as assigned.
- Ensure materials are handled carefully to prevent damage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift operator certification or demonstrated proficiency and willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that involve frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and commitment to a safe working environment.
