Our logistics company in Sacramento, California, is looking for a skilled Material Handler to manage and control all incoming and outgoing materials. This role is vital for maintaining the smooth flow of goods within our facility and ensuring that our inventory is accurately tracked and managed. The Material Handler will be responsible for receiving, identifying, and staging materials, as well as operating various types of material handling equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our warehouse operations. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. We are looking for someone who can work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions precisely. Your duties will include operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move materials safely and efficiently. You will also be responsible for organizing materials in the warehouse, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring that all items are stored correctly. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory, and training on safe material handling techniques will be provided. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Move materials to and from storage areas and production areas.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Accurately record material movements and inventory levels.
- Prepare materials for shipment.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification or experience operating forklifts and other heavy machinery.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting heavy objects up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to PPE guidelines.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles is beneficial.
