Are you a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator looking for a rewarding opportunity in Columbus, Ohio? We are hiring an experienced individual to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is essential for the efficient operation of our warehouse and distribution center. You will be responsible for ensuring that all movements of goods are conducted safely and efficiently, minimizing damage to products and equipment. Our logistics operations depend on reliable and proficient forklift operators like you. You will play a vital part in maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting order fulfillment processes. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation and a strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Stack and retrieve merchandise from various levels, following designated storage plans.
- Perform pre-operation checks on equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and locations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of appropriate PPE.
- Participate in regular safety training sessions and contribute to a culture of safety awareness.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory as required.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or proven experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
