Job Summary:
Our growing company in Detroit, Michigan is looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our warehouse inventory. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that our logistics operations run smoothly by tracking stock levels, conducting cycle counts, and investigating discrepancies. The successful candidate will be proactive in identifying and resolving inventory issues to minimize loss and maximize efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between system inventory and physical counts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement and operations teams to ensure adequate stock availability.
  • Manage the identification and segregation of damaged or obsolete inventory.
  • Ensure all inventory-related activities comply with company policies and safety regulations, including proper PPE usage.
  • Train warehouse staff on inventory control procedures.
  • Support the logistics team in optimizing warehouse layout and storage methods.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency with WMS software and inventory management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with forklifts or other material handling equipment is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing for long periods.
  • Commitment to upholding safety standards and using required PPE.
