Are you detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills? We are looking for an Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain accurate inventory records for our facility in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This critical role ensures that our stock levels are precise, reducing discrepancies and optimizing warehouse operations. You will be responsible for tracking inventory movement, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to improve inventory accuracy. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy of stock levels.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by analyzing data, reviewing transactions, and conducting audits.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including additions, deletions, and adjustments.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status, including identifying slow-moving or obsolete items.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Ensure proper organization and labeling of all inventory within the warehouse.
- Work closely with receiving, stocking, and shipping teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist in the training of new staff on inventory control procedures.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform data entry with precision.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations is a plus.
- Must be able to handle physical tasks, including occasional lifting.
