We are hiring experienced Forklift Operators for our San Antonio, Texas facility. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of our logistics operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout the warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating forklifts to transport materials, load and unload trucks, and assist with inventory management. Safety is our top priority, and we expect all operators to be vigilant, follow all established protocols, and utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This is a challenging and rewarding position for a skilled individual passionate about warehouse logistics and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach) to move palletized and non-palletized items.
- Load and unload freight from trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the warehouse, including storage racks and staging areas.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklift equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Stack and organize inventory accurately, adhering to rack capacity and safety guidelines.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification tasks as needed.
- Follow all warehouse traffic rules and safety procedures to prevent accidents.
- Wear and maintain all required PPE, including safety shoes, vests, and any other specified gear.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, free from obstructions.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate logistics activities.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or distribution center. Valid forklift certification (e.g., OSHA) is required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed. Deep understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices. Excellent hand-eye coordination, balance, and spatial reasoning skills. Capacity to work in a fast-paced logistics environment and meet demanding schedules. Strong teamwork and communication abilities. Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe workplace. Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends, when necessary for logistics operations. Strict adherence to all safety protocols and PPE usage is mandatory.
