Job Description
Looking for highly motivated individuals to run livestock facilities or to work in livestock facilities. Manger position must be CLM certified by ODA. Workers do not need previous experience will train. Pay is dependent on skills and certification. Basic duties include animal welfare, recording levels of feed and filling out paperwork. Some seasonal work in warm weather include some landscaping duties. Facility maintenance is also part of duties for all positions. Manager position is full time and worker is part time. Full time position is 40-50 hours/week and part time is 30 hours/week. During loading and turning of facilities hours may be more. All employees regardless of position is 1099.
Position Overview
Ringler Livestock is seeking a highly motivated, experienced General Manager to oversee daily facility operations in Ashley, Ohio. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring animal welfare, regulatory compliance, staff coordination, facility maintenance, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will be CLM-certified through the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and passionate about livestock care and facility management.
Pay is competitive and dependent on experience, certifications, and skill level.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Facility Management
Oversee daily livestock facility operations to ensure safety, cleanliness, and efficiency
Manage livestock intake, housing, movement, loading, and facility turnover
Monitor feed levels and coordinate ordering and restocking
Ensure proper animal handling, care, and welfare standards are consistently met
Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and compliance documentation
Animal Care & Welfare
Ensure livestock health, comfort, and humane treatment at all times
Monitor animals for illness, injury, or stress and coordinate appropriate response
Ensure adherence to state and federal livestock handling regulations and best practices
Leadership & Staff Oversight
Supervise part-time facility workers and seasonal staff
Train employees on safety protocols, animal handling, equipment use, and procedures
Assign daily work tasks and ensure completion of operational goals
Lead by example in professionalism, safety, and work ethic
Compliance & Reporting
Maintain compliance with Ohio Department of Agriculture standards and certifications
Complete required paperwork related to animal movement, feed records, inspections, and audits
Ensure biosecurity procedures are followed
Facility Maintenance & Groundskeeping
Oversee facility maintenance, cleaning, and repairs
Perform seasonal landscaping and grounds upkeep during warm weather months
Ensure all equipment, pens, gates, and structures remain operational and safe
Safety & Risk Management
Enforce workplace safety standards and injury prevention protocols
Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards and corrective actions
Ensure safe handling of livestock, tools, and equipment
Qualifications & Requirements
CLM Certification through the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) – Required
Previous experience in livestock operations, facility management, agriculture, or animal care preferred
Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities
Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Certifications & Training
Certified Livestock Manager (CLM) – Required
OSHA safety training or agricultural safety certifications preferred (not required)
First Aid/CPR certification a plus
Company training provided for operational procedures and systems
Compensation & Employment Details
Pay: Competitive; based on experience, skills, and certifications
Employment Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Schedule:
Full-Time: 40–50 hours/week
Additional hours during livestock loading, unloading, and facility turnover
Work Environment
Indoor and outdoor livestock facility setting
