PAVRO Recruitment has partnered with one of the largest and well-respected Hotel brands in the world in their search for an Executive Housekeeper for their Niagara Falls property.
Position Summary
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for leading and managing all Housekeeping operations to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction throughout the hotel. This role oversees Housekeeping staff, labour costs, inventory, and procedures while maintaining compliance with company brand standards and health and safety regulations
Essential Functions
Operational Management
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations for guest rooms, public areas, pools, and laundry facilities
- Ensure all areas of the hotel meet or exceed cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetic standards
- Coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance to ensure room availability and readiness
Leadership & Staff Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff
- Foster a positive, respectful, and productive work environment
- Ensure proper onboarding and continuous training on cleaning procedures, safety, and guest service
- Address performance issues, provide coaching, and conduct disciplinary actions as needed
- Prepare staff schedules based on occupancy forecasts and business needs
Budgeting & Inventory Control
- Develop and manage the housekeeping department labour costs, forecasting and operating expenses while maintaining service quality
- Approve bi-weekly payroll for Housekeeping department
- Manage inventory of linens, amenities, cleaning supplies, and equipment
- Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of all housekeeping equipment
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with other department heads to ensure effective business operations
- Participate in management meetings and contribute to operational planning
- Prepare reports related to staffing, costs, productivity, and quality metrics
Guest Satisfaction & Service Excellence
- Collaborate with hotel leadership to enhance guest experience initiatives
- Handle issues related to guest comments and concerns
- Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements based on trends and service gaps
Brand & Compliance
- Uphold company mission, values and culture.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Ensure departmental compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations
- Enforce proper handling of chemicals and hazardous materials
- Implement infection control and cleanliness protocols as required
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and the regulations.
- Have a thorough knowledge of all fire and safety procedures and equipment (fire extinguishers) in the event a situation occurs.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements
Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Continuous use of computer throughout shift.
Ability to walk for long periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs may be required.
Bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting and stretching during room inspections or training.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive supervisory/managerial experience in housekeeping
- Experience with HOTSOS or ONQ would be considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning techniques, and materials
- Proven leadership and ability to manage a team of over 100 employees
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Power Point)
- Attention to detail and quality control mindset
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Expertise in forecasting and controlling department labour costs
