OverviewOur client is seeking an experienced and strategic Operations Manager to oversee and unify operations across logistics, fleet maintenance, yard production, and compliance.
This role is responsible for bridging departments, eliminating operational silos, and building a cohesive, high-performing operation. The successful candidate will bring structure, foresight, and accountability while driving scalable growth and operational efficiency.
This is a senior leadership position suited for a commercially minded operator who thrives in complex, production-driven environments.
Core Mandate
- Integrate logistics, maintenance, yard production, and compliance into one cohesive operational framework
- Oversee end-to-end operations across multiple provinces
- Identify operational gaps, streamline workflows, and improve cross-department coordination
- Reduce reactive firefighting by implementing structured processes and long-term planning
- Lead and mentor department heads across all operational functions
- Build and develop a strong leadership team capable of independently managing day-to-day execution
- Coach leaders to become confident, self-sufficient decision-makers
- Provide strategic oversight without micromanaging daily activities
- Lead with confidence and authority while maintaining a collaborative, ego-free approach
- Earn trust and respect through competence, accountability, and consistency
- Strengthen and optimize yard operations, a key growth area for the business
- Identify operational choke points, forecast bottlenecks, and proactively implement solutions
- Balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on operational execution
- Lead major operational initiatives, including yard expansion and capacity scaling
- Increase production capacity while controlling and reducing operational spend
- Oversee multi-province logistics and production performance
- Strong background in trucking and logistics, including costing, route optimization, and haul economics
- Mechanical knowledge of trucks and heavy equipment
- Experience in production-driven environments
- Deep understanding of fleet operating costs and long-haul economics
- Ability to analyze cost per truck, maintenance impact, and margin performance
- Highly analytical with strong financial acumen
- Advanced Excel skills and budgeting experience
- Commercially savvy with a performance-driven mindset
- Ability to connect operational decisions to profitability and ROI
- Comfortable operating within salary plus performance-based bonus structures
- $100,000 - $150,000 salary range
