The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Hands‑On GenAI Lead to serve as the principal technical authority for enterprise‑scale generative AI platforms and solutions. This is the highest-level individual contributor role at Highspring, designed for someone who can combine deep architectural ownership with hands‑on engineering excellence. You will shape GenAI strategy through execution, set engineering standards, and lead the delivery of complex LLM systems across multiple client initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the organization’s top technical authority for GenAI and LLM‑driven systems.
• Define and evolve enterprise GenAI architectures, blueprints, and design patterns.
• Own architectural decisions for multi‑agent systems, orchestration workflows, and advanced automation using frameworks such as CrewAI, LangGraph, or equivalents.
• Lead the design and delivery of highly complex document intelligence and document‑processing platforms.
• Stay deeply hands‑on by contributing to core code paths, prototypes, evaluations, and production deployments.
• Build, fine‑tune, and operationalize advanced LLM solutions including copilots, autonomous agents, RAG systems, chatbots, summarization tools, and extraction pipelines.
• Solve the most difficult challenges in performance, scalability, latency, cost management, and production reliability.
• Drive advanced prompt engineering, experimentation frameworks, and evaluation methodologies.
• Develop reusable GenAI platforms, shared services, and internal accelerators.
• Establish engineering best practices for model lifecycle management, observability, governance, and responsible AI.
• Collaborate with cloud, platform, and governance teams to ensure production‑grade readiness.
• Mentor senior engineers, elevate engineering standards, and influence technical direction across teams—without direct line management.
• Contribute to innovation cycles, roadmap planning, and emerging technology evaluations.
• Advocate and implement responsible AI practices, including bias detection, explainability, and risk controls.
• Represent Highspring internally and externally as a GenAI technical thought leader.

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related fields.
• 8+ years of hands‑on software, ML, or AI engineering experience.
• 4+ years building and deploying GenAI or LLM‑based systems in production.
• Proven ownership of architecture across multiple GenAI initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical strategy at an organizational level.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

Core Skills Required

• Programming: Expert‑level Python; Java or TypeScript for integrations
• GenAI Frameworks: Hugging Face, LangChain, OpenAI APIs, or equivalents
• LLMs: Deep experience with state‑of‑the‑art models (GPT‑4/5 class, Claude, Grok, etc.)
• Orchestration: CrewAI, LangGraph, or other multi‑agent orchestration frameworks
• ML Frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
• RAG & Data: Embeddings, vector databases, chunking strategies, retrieval pipelines
• Deployment: Docker, Kubernetes, FastAPI, CI/CD
• Cloud: Azure, AWS, or GCP
