We are currently seeking a highly organized and motivated HR Coordinator for a 12–18 month maternity leave coverage. This role is a key opportunity to support and maintain continuity across our HR team, contributing to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and overall HR operations.


Key Responsibilities:


Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, posting job openings, screening candidates, and participating in interviews.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and support selection decisions.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing employment documentation, conducting orientation sessions, and ensuring completion of required paperwork.
  • Ensure a smooth and positive onboarding experience for all new employees.


Employee & Industrial Relations

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance and support on HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist in addressing employee relations matters promptly and professionally, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
  • Support investigations and documentation related to workplace concerns as required.


Performance Management

  • Support the organization’s performance management process, including coordinating performance reviews, goal setting, and development planning.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance-related matters.


Training & Development

  • Identify organizational training needs and coordinate internal and external training programs.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training sessions related to safety, compliance, and professional development.
  • Track and maintain training records and certifications.


HR Reporting & Recordkeeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, personnel files, and HR databases.
  • Prepare HR reports and analyze metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies.


Provide general office support, including:

  • Assist with ordering office lunch
  • Plan/coordinate company social events
  • Printer troubleshooting and coordination with IT or service providers.
  • Ordering and maintaining office supply inventory.
  • Ensure adequate paper supply in all copiers; order when stock is low
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of employment standards and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (BambooHR).
