The Opportunity

An established European technology group with 30+ years of expertise in anaerobic digestion and organic waste-to-energy systems is seeking a dynamic CEO / President to lead and scale its North America subsidiary.

With a strong global track record, patented proprietary technology, and over 100 international plant installations, the business is now accelerating its North America expansion. This is a rare opportunity to take full executive ownership of a growing platform in the renewable energy and waste treatment sector.

You will have the mandate to build, lead, and scale a regional operation — combining strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution in the early stages.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the North America growth strategy aligned with global objectives
• Establish market positioning within renewable energy and organic waste treatment
• Build long-term enterprise value across the region

Financial & Operational Management

• Full P&L ownership and financial oversight
• Budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to the Board
• Develop operational structures to support scalable growth
• Ensure project delivery excellence and risk management

Business Development & Market Expansion

• Identify and secure new project opportunities in anaerobic digestion and organics diversion
• Build partnerships with municipalities, waste haulers, developers, utilities, and investors
• Represent the company at industry events and key stakeholder forums
• Drive commercial negotiations and strategic alliances

Regulatory & Market Positioning

• Navigate the North America regulatory landscape (state, provincial, and federal)
• Ensure compliance across environmental and safety standards
• Position the business as a leader in decarbonisation and circular economy solutions

Team Leadership

• Lead and expand a growing team (currently lean structure)
• Recruit key leadership hires as the business scales
• Foster a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture

Candidate Profile

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially driven executive with:

• Executive leadership experience within renewable energy, environmental infrastructure, industrial plant engineering, or related sectors
• Demonstrated success scaling businesses in North America
• Strong P&L management and financial leadership capability
• Experience developing strategic partnerships and securing complex infrastructure projects
• Understanding of the North America waste, energy, or environmental regulatory landscape
• Engineering, environmental, or business background (Master’s preferred)
