The player team is looking for a motivated software engineer to enhance the video streaming experience of our users. This role is focused on delivering a state-of-the-art playback experience within our streaming apps on embedded web devices and connected (smart) TVs. We are developing a core playback SDK and implement innovative features for advanced and optimized OTT video streaming. In this position, you work within our hybrid model  “Highly Remote” .  Find out more about this model here . The contractually agreed place of work will be Unterföhring near Munich or Berlin. Key job details Career level: Professionals Location: München, Berlin, Deutschland Job title: Software Engineer - Smart TV Player (m/f/d) Company: Seven.One Entertainment Group GmbH Contact: Lisa Aßhoff What you can expect in this role You are actively involved in the entire agile software development process, from concept to production, and develop highly available solutions used by millions of users  You ship new and exciting features to our new video player running on Smart TVs  You optimize the video player's performance to ensure a smooth experience for all our users  Therefore, you collaborate in an agile, cross-functional team consisting of software engineers, QA testers, and product managers  You tackle technological challenges with great learning perspectives and take on ownership of your work  In our DevOps culture, you continuously improve our processes and tech stack, leveraging technical benefits on behalf of our users  Your essential experience and education You have strong knowledge of video players, streaming protocols (MPEG-DASH, HLS), and related technologies, including Media Source Extensions (MSE) and Encrypted Media Extensions (EME) APIs  Also, you have hands-on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript  Experience with open-source video players like Shaka Player or Hls.js and with developing apps for Smart TVs is preferred  You are autonomous and proactive, and have a high sense of ownership for the product  You possess excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills, with fluency in written and spoken English; German is a plus  What's in it for you?
