ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Business Analyst to support pricing, trade spend, sales performance analysis, and long-term planning initiatives.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring structured, accurate, and usable data analysis to support commercial decision-making and business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop and maintain structured Excel models for pricing, trade spend, and sales analysis.
- Consolidate and standardize distributor data from multiple sources.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency of calculations and assumptions.
- Maintain clear documentation of methodologies and data sources.
- Improve data structure and reporting workflows to enhance efficiency.
- Lead the setup, implementation, and ongoing optimization of Power BI, including designing, developing, and maintaining dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
Planning & Forecasting Support
- Support annual business planning through data consolidation, scenario modelling, and financial impact analysis.
- Develop structured models to support the 5-year plan, including volume, pricing, and trade spend projections.
- Conduct sensitivity analysis and scenario simulations to inform decision-making.
- Ensure planning assumptions are clearly documented and traceable.
Decision Support
- Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches.
- Deliver outputs that clearly support pricing, promotional, and trade investment decisions.
- Present key findings and implications in a clear, concise format.
- Highlight risks, assumptions, and data limitations when relevant.
WORK ENVIRONMENT (HYBRID)
This position operates in a hybrid environment (4 days in-office). The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, mobile phones, and video conferencing tools. The employee is expected to maintain a professional and productive remote workspace suitable for regular virtual meetings and business communications.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This role allows for some flexibility in scheduling; however, employees are generally expected to be available during core business hours of 9:00 am to 5:30pm (EST) to support internal teams. From time to time, additional hours may be required based on business needs. Any such hours will be managed in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
QUALIFICATIONS & ELIGIBILITY
Required Education, Experience & Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar analytical role.
- Experience working in CPG, distribution, retail, or commercial environments is preferred.
- Experience supporting pricing, trade, sales analysis, or financial planning is an asset.
- Ability to understand the business objective behind analytical requests.
- Strong logical reasoning and structured problem-solving.
- Ability to present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in cross-functional environments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on business impact.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written) is required.
- Basic proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is considered an asset (not a must) due to collaboration with international stakeholders.
Technical Requirements
- Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas such as INDEX/MATCH or XLOOKUP).
- Experience building dashboards and structured reporting tools.
- Familiarity with data modelling concepts and KPI design.
- Experience supporting commercial, pricing, or trade analysis.
- Experience in data mining, data cleaning, and extracting insights from large or unstructured datasets.
- Ability to build structured, transparent, and well-documented analytical models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in PowerBI
Work Authorization
- Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 (Note: Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications)
