POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Cité Rive residence is located in a prestigious setting, surrounded by enchanting scenery overlooking a beautiful park along the majestic Rivière-des-Prairies. We are currently seeking an experienced and creative new colleague to fill a permanent, full-time Sous Chef position (40 hours per week, day/evening shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and one weekend out of two).

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the head chef
• Participate in the management of the kitchen and the existing team
• Perform all other related tasks
• Replace the head chef as needed

Food Services

• Assemble plates of food
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure good teamwork
• Create tasty menus while respecting the expected level of quality and the allocated budget
• Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food
• Plan and cook meals in accordance with the appropriate methods and standards
• Take inventory of food products and place orders with suppliers

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivelent
• Experience in large volume catering (an asset)
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar position
• Knowledge of senior living residences is a major asset.
• Training certification (MAPAQ)
