Responsibilities

  • Job Summary: The Supervisor of the Landscape Maintenance Crew is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of the crew
  • This role ensures that all landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, edging, and landscape installations, are completed efficiently and to the highest standards
  • The supervisor will lead the team, manage schedules, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and report to site directors and executive staff
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and lead the landscape maintenance crew, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations
  • Task Management: Oversee and participate in mowing, trimming, edging of turf, and any installations at the designated site
  • Quality Control: Ensure all landscaping and hardscape tasks are performed with attention to detail and meet company standards
  • Equipment Management: Ensure proper use, maintenance, and inventory of landscaping equipment
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure crew members wear appropriate PPE, including uniforms, steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection
  • Schedule Management: Develop and manage daily work schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the crew and site directors, facilitating clear and effective communication
  • Reporting: Regularly report to site directors and executive staff on the progress of landscaping tasks, any issues encountered, and solutions implemented
  • Problem Solving: Address any issues or challenges that arise during the workday and implement solutions promptly
  • Meetings: Conduct daily morning meetings to discuss tasks, goals, and any updates
  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions
  • Normal workday hours with rare to occasional overtime requirements

Qualifications:

• Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license, an operable phone, and a reliable mode of transportation.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, and operating landscaping equipment.
• Compliance: Must wear uniforms provided by the company, self-provided steel-toed safety boots, and appropriate PPE such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
• Knowledge of pesticide, herbicide, and fertilizer applications; state applicator license or ability to obtain one preferred.
• Familiarity with irrigation systems, troubleshooting, and minor repairs preferred
Working Conditions:
• Outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Normal workday hours with rare to occasional overtime requirements.

Work Location: In person

Responsibilities:

· Take responsibility for daily work tasks

· Communicate openly with clients, supervisor and all team members

· Ensure quality level and completion of work within scheduled time

· Basic masonry skills to include grading and drainage work, bluestone patios, stonewalls and retaining walls made from various stone products.

· Ability to safely handle tree removal equipment such as chippers, chainsaws, etc.

· DOT Medical Card certified to drive heavy trucks such as a Ford F-550

· Layout and install planting beds per drawings

· Operate John Deere backhoe/loader and caterpillar skid steer

· Coordinate purchase and delivery of hard materials to job sites

· Participate in weekly training sessions (tailgate/safety talks)

· Attend courses and seminars to increase our knowledge and skills

· Operate and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools

· Be physically able to lift 50 pounds

· Knowledge of plant material for zones 5-7

· Hands-on experience of pruning trees and shrubs.

· Fine Gardening experience
