About Us
Driftless Landscape LLC is a design/build landscape company seeking a Landscape/Hardscape Foreman to help lead installation projects for the upcoming season.
We manage projects from concept through construction and are continuing to grow our internal landscape construction team. Our crews collaborate with skilled trade partners including masons, electricians, plumbers, excavators, and specialty subcontractors to deliver complete outdoor environments.
We are an organized, team-oriented company operating newer equipment and focusing on shared project goals, quality craftsmanship, and efficient job sites.

Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Landscape/Hardscape Foreman to lead daily field operations while working hands-on alongside the crew installing landscapes and hardscapes. The ideal candidate has strong installation skills, leadership ability, and pride in delivering high-quality outdoor spaces.
This role combines crew leadership, jobsite organization, and physical construction work.

Key Responsibilities:
Site Leadership
- Direct and organize daily crew activities on assigned projects
- Maintain jobsite efficiency, quality, and safety
- Stay aware of project progress and communicate updates or needs to management so scheduling and coordination can be handled by project leadership
Installation & Construction
- Install hardscapes including natural stone walls, boulder walls, precast retaining walls, pavers, and landscape lighting
- Perform planting of trees, shrubs, perennials, and mulch installation
- Rough grading and site preparation
- Landscape removals and material handling
Equipment & Operations
- Operate trucks, skid steers, loaders, excavators, compactors, trenchers, masonry saws, and layout equipment
- Prepare trucks and equipment daily
- Load and secure materials safely
Communication & Problem Solving
- Identify jobsite challenges and communicate solutions with Production Manager and Landscape Architect
- Maintain clear communication with crew and management
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions (rain or shine)
- Regular lifting and handling of materials exceeding 50 lbs
- Moderate noise levels; hearing protection required during equipment operation
- Exposure to soils, fertilizers, and typical landscape materials
Schedule & Employment Details
- Typical schedule: Monday–Friday, 40–50 hours per week
- Up to 60 hours during peak workload periods
- Some weeks may be lighter due to weather conditions
- Full-time seasonal position (approximately spring through fall)
- Occasional overtime as workload dictates
- We do not perform snow plowing; limited winter hours may be available through land clearing and related projects
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years landscape or construction experience required
- Previous foreman or crew leadership experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred but not required)
- Clean driving record for company vehicle use
- Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, loaders, and excavators
- Ability to read and interpret landscape and hardscape plans
- Plant knowledge preferred
- Spanish/English bilingual skills helpful but not required
