Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to support the maintenance and overall health of our golf course. This role involves assisting in the management of landscape maintenance, turf care, irrigation systems, and horticultural practices to ensure the course remains in optimal condition for players and members. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in landscaping and lawn care, and a passion for maintaining high standards of course quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing daily landscape maintenance activities, including mowing, edging, fertilizing, and pest control
• Support irrigation system management and troubleshooting to ensure proper watering schedules and system functionality
• Supervise staff involved in turf management, gardening, tree care, and general groundskeeping
• Coordinate construction projects related to course improvements or repairs
• Ensure safety protocols are followed during all maintenance activities
• Maintain detailed records of turf conditions, treatments, and equipment maintenance
• Assist with supervising equipment operation and performing routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance
• Support environmental sustainability initiatives by implementing eco-friendly practices in landscaping and maintenance

Experience

• Proven experience in landscape maintenance, landscaping, or turf management within a golf course or similar setting
• Supervising experience with teams involved in lawn care, gardening, or construction projects
• Knowledge of horticulture principles, tree care, irrigation systems, and general groundskeeping techniques
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate teams effectively
• Familiarity with equipment maintenance and safety procedures related to golf course operations
• Prior experience in project management or overseeing construction activities is a plus
• A passion for maintaining high-quality outdoor environments and a commitment to excellence in golf course presentation
