The Landscape Installation Field Manager is a hands-on position in charge of managing the day-to-day operations of all contracted work to be performed on an assigned jobsite. Areas of supervision include landscape installation, subcontractors and performing certain planning, administrative and regulatory functions. The landscape installation field manager will read job plans and specifications and install jobs consistent with those specifications to Pitchford Design and Landscape standards.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in landscape installation field, 2+ years in a leadership role preferably project management
- Valid drivers license and clean motor vehicle report
- Ability to operate truck and trailer
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Qualities
- Eye and knowledge of quality landscape work
- Self-motivated to handle daily tasks, assigned and unassigned
- Excellent communication skills across a series of platforms including phone, text, email and CRM
- A leadership style that promotes opportunities for educating and building a strong team
- Desire to both learn and to educate
- Excellent client support skills
- Motivated to provide growth opportunities for the company
Priority Responsibilities
- Oversee all installation projects from start to finish to inspect for accuracy, quality, and efficiency
- Work with designers and clients to create estimates
- Create daily work orders and organize day to day tasks for crews
- Schedule new work and update schedule as needed
- Herbicide treatments for new jobs
- Materials ordering
- Insure a safe and respectful working environment is upheld
- Managing crews and personnel (call outs, filling in, issues)
- Client walkthroughs and customer service
- Facilitate communication between crew, client and designer/contractor
- Training of new field hires
Secondary Responsibilities
- Following up on assigned landscape requests (leads)
- Building estimates for assigned requests or designed projects
- Site visits
- Schedule maintenance and care of equipment
- Respond to phone calls, texts, emails from clients as needed
- Aid in constructing SOP for field work and estimating
- Aid in interview process of new hires
