Über

The Inbound Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing all critical, extraordinary, or priority transportation requests for manufacturing operations. This person provides direct operational support by managing urgent shipments-primarily by road and, when required, by air-while ensuring compliance with deadlines, customs requirements, and quality standards.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Coordinate and execute all urgent, critical, or extraordinary transportation requests for materials destined for manufacturing plants.

  • Manage end-to-end urgent road shipments, including carrier selection, creation of transport orders, and real‑time tracking.

  • Organize air shipments when needed (NFO-Next Flight Out, OBC if applicable, express cargo).

  • Quickly assess each request and determine the optimal mode of transport based on priorities, costs, timelines, and operational constraints.

  • Communicate proactively with carriers, internal teams, and plants to ensure full visibility of shipment progress.

  • Handle unforeseen events and emergencies quickly and effectively while maintaining a high level of service.

  • Document shipments, track KPIs, and contribute to the continuous improvement of urgent transportation processes.

  • Apply relevant customs requirements and collaborate with customs brokers when needed.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • Excellent command of road transportation (essential).

  • Knowledge and comfort with air transportation services (a strong asset).

  • Strong ability to work under pressure and manage multiple emergencies simultaneously.

  • Sharp sense of prioritization, organization, and rapid decision‑making.

  • Autonomy, commitment, proactivity, and strong problem‑solving orientation.

  • Solid knowledge of the North American transportation market (Canada, United States, Mexico).

  • Understanding of customs processes and requirements (an asset).

  • Excellent communication skills in French and English to collaborate with external partners outside of Quebec.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain.

  • Hands‑on experience in urgent/expedited transportation (a major asset).

  • Knowledge of basic IT tools and logistics management systems.

  • Occasional availability to respond to emergencies outside regular business hours (if required in your context).
