Antimicrobial Therapy Inc. (also known as “Sanford Guide”) seeks a seasoned Systems Administrator with a strong DevOps mindset to help design, build, and operate reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure in AWS. This role is ideal for someone who’s spent years working hands-on with real-world production servers and has evolved toward automation, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-native best practices.
Sanford Guide has been a leader in the field of infectious disease treatment guidelines and antimicrobial stewardship since 1969, and now offers multiple solutions in the Healthcare IT market via innovative technology offerings and top-rated treatment guidelines. We are a small family-owned and operated business devoted to helping prescribers and pharmacists make decisions that lower costs and improve patient care. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for owning core infrastructure, improving reliability and scalability, and partnering with our engineering team to modernize how systems are built and operated.
Experience working in the healthcare industry is a plus, along with hands-on experience designing and implementing systems that securely handle patient data and personally identifiable information (PII). The Systems Administrator will report to the Cybersecurity & IT Specialist, and will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer.

*Duties:*
* Design, build, and maintain AWS-based infrastructure with a focus on reliability, security, and scalability * Work independently and collaboratively in a high-availability environment with strict uptime requirements * Build, deploy, and maintain EC2 instances at scale using modern automation technologies * Manage existing AWS networking infrastructure and security groups * Respond to, troubleshoot, and remediate system issues in a timely manner, including participating in incident response as needed * Manage and operate AWS RDS instances, including backups, performance tuning, and troubleshooting * Perform SQL queries as needed for diagnostics, reporting, and operational support * Build, manage, and scale servers in a LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment * Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and automated recovery strategies * Collaborate with developers to improve deployment workflows and infrastructure automation
*Required Qualifications:*
* 5 to 8+ years of professional experience working with production servers and infrastructure (excluding time in school) * A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or Computer Engineering * Experience building and managing EC2 instances in AWS * Experience with AWS Route 53 for DNS management * In-depth understanding of AWS VPCs, networking concepts, and security best practices * Experience working with AWS Load Balancers (ALB / NLB / ELB) * Experience with AWS RDS, including the ability to run SQL queries * Proven experience managing servers at scale in a LAMP stack environment * Deep understanding of DNS concepts, including experience managing DNS in cloud environments (Route 53 and Azure). xkddfxh * Strong Linux systems administration skills
*Desired Skills & Qualifications (nice to have):*
* Experience creating and maintaining Ansible playbooks for configuration management and automation * Experience using Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools * Experience designing automated failover and scalable infrastructure across multiple AWS regions * Familiarity with Microsoft Azure * Experience working with Docker and containerized workloads * Exposure to or experience with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance frameworks * AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator) * Scripting experience with Bash, PHP, or Python
*Compensation & Work Environment:*
* Starting salary of $120-140k/year, and modest annual bonus * 100% health insurance for employee, 50% for dependents * Vision & dental insurance * Minimum 24 days paid leave per year, plus 2 weeks additional leave every 3 years * 12 paid holidays (13 for U.S. veterans) * Profit-sharing 401k after one year * 40-hour workweek (time off credit given for longer hours) * Support for remote work, on-site office available as well * Some flexibility in schedule (negotiable) * Occasional travel ( Remote working/work at home options are available for this role.
