Elevata is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering and fabrication business in the West Midlands that specialises in delivering bespoke engineering solutions across a range of industrial sectors . Due to continued growth, the business is looking to add a Design Engineer to their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a project-based environment , developing concepts into manufacturable designs while collaborating closely with production and customers. The Role
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting engineering projects from concept through to manufacture. Key responsibilities include: Translating initial concepts into detailed general arrangement drawings and working models
Producing 2D and 3D CAD designs for bespoke engineering projects
Carrying out design calculations, technical specifications and site surveys where required
Generating engineering documentation including manufacturing plans, risk assessments and QA documentation
Liaising with customers, internal teams and production departments to ensure designs are practical and cost effective
Supporting compliance with relevant industry standards including ISO quality standards and structural fabrication regulations
Assisting with cost estimation and solution design for bespoke engineering projects
Requirements
To be considered for this role you should have: Experience in 2D and 3D CAD design within an engineering or fabrication environment
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and Bill of Materials (BOMs)
Experience working within manufacturing, fabrication or bespoke engineering environments
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal teams and customers
A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
Desirable Experience
Knowledge of structural steel, fabrication or industrial machinery design
Experience working within project-based or bespoke manufacturing environments
Familiarity with ISO quality standards
