What You’ll Be DoingJoin us as a Nuclear Commissioning Project Leader and take the lead in driving the delivery of our test and commissioning plan. Your role will be pivotal in:
- Leading a team of nuclear mechanical commissioning engineers.
- Supporting the Reactor Test Group (RTG) by authorising a suite of test documentation.
- Acting as an Authorised Person in the permit to work process.
- Reviewing engineering outputs and documents to ensure quality and compliance.
- Embedding learning from experience (LFE) into our processes.
Essential:
- A degree, HNC, or HND in an engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of nuclear systems and their testing and commissioning.
- Knowledge of overall submarine systems and their operation.
- Experience in supporting and coaching diverse teams in complex environments.
- Proficiency with IT systems and software, particularly Microsoft products.
- Experience in planning test and commissioning programmes.
Desirable:
- Excellent mentorship and development skills.
- Cat B Nuclear Operator certification or relevant nuclear industry experience.
- Experience with nuclear licensed or COMAH sites.
- Experience in embedding Learning from Experience (LFE).

As a Commissioning Project Leader – Mechanical, you will:
- Plan and manage a test section and all associated activities.
- Deliver as part of a wider test & commissioning programme involving major engineering systems.
- Contribute to the embedding of LFE and the realization of our test commissioning strategy.
- Lead a diverse group of Commissioning Engineers, offering a broad range of technical skills on a unique project that is part of a national endeavor.
