_*Position Overview:*_ _We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our dynamic cardiology group. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum certification as a California Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) with ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification and a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. The technologist will be responsible for performing nuclear cardiology studies using the Digirad camera. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will play a crucial role in supporting our cardiology team by producing high-quality images, maintaining patient safety, and ensuring the accuracy of diagnostic procedures. This job will start scheduled 1-2 days per week (Monday-Tuesday) with possibility to increase. Health insurance may be available depending on hours worked. Proficient and experienced technologists can expect the upper end of our posted pay range._
_*Responsibilities:*_
* _Perform nuclear cardiology scans using SPECT camera._
* _Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and addressing any concerns they may have._
* _Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients following established protocols and safety guidelines._
* _Position patients correctly for optimal image quality, ensuring patient comfort and safety._
* _Maintaining compliance with radiation safety standards._
* _Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their well-being and report any adverse reactions to the appropriate medical personnel._
* _Evaluate image quality and take necessary steps to ensure accurate and clear images are obtained._
* _Maintain accurate patient records, documenting relevant information related to procedures, patient history, and administered doses._
* _Assist with the maintenance, calibration, and quality control of imaging equipment to ensure its proper functioning._
* _Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including radiation safety and infection control protocols._
* _Provide education and instructions to patients regarding the imaging procedure, radiation safety precautions, and post-procedure care._
* _Stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology and techniques through ongoing education and professional development._
* _Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and interprofessional collaboration._
_*Qualifications:*_
* _Minimum certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) from an accredited program, certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine is desirable._
* _California State licensure required._
* _Strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles, radiopharmaceuticals, and radiation safety protocols._
* _Experience operating nuclear medicine cameras is required._
* _Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members._
* _Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and high-quality images._
* _Proficient in using electronic health record systems and medical imaging software._
* _Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently._
* _Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and providing compassionate care._
