We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services, including vision examinations, diagnosis of eye diseases, and management of patient care. The Optometrist will work closely with patients to ensure their visual health and will be expected to maintain accurate medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose ocular conditions.
* Prescribe corrective lenses and other visual aids as needed.
* Provide patient education on eye health, vision correction options, and preventive care.
* Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
* Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
* Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
* Perform necessary tests, including measuring vital signs relevant to eye health.
* Assist in the management of the optical department, including inventory control and patient consultations regarding eyewear options.
*Experience*
* Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution is required.
* Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred, particularly in pediatrics or ophthalmology.
* Strong knowledge of optical principles, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical coding is essential.
* Familiarity with maintaining medical records and understanding patient care protocols is necessary.
* Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient education and care are vital for success in this role.
