Your day-to-day
Coordinate and oversee two major parallel projects aimed at establishing a network of Indigenous experts in environmental monitoring and aquatic and terrestrial restoration.
Manage funding agreements and maintain strong relationships with partner communities in Uashat mak Mani-Utenam, Matimekush-Lac John and Kawawachikamach, while serving as a liaison between the FNQLSDI teams and project partners.
Coordinate the expertise and local and regional events, contribute to partnership development, and ensure that communities’ needs are met in terms of training and specialized expertise, particularly in environmental monitoring, logistics, aquatic and terrestrial restoration, and water quality monitoring.
Main responsibilities

Identify the project’s key components by conducting a needs and interests analysis that prioritizes First Nations’ community priorities, anticipates risks, and leverages opportunities

Actively contribute to the drafting of project proposals and funding applications

Lead project implementation and ensure steady progress by developing tools and maintaining regular follow-ups with partners (including meetings, events, etc.)

Develop a detailed work plan and timeline, ensuring adherence by optimizing available resources and monitoring costs in accordance with established procedures

Prepare regular progress reports outlining results achieved and ensure effective follow-up once the project is completed

Deliver high-quality work at all times, focused on achieving the outcomes expected by our First Nations partners

Conduct ongoing environmental scanning and information monitoring throughout the project
Do you have what it takes?
-
6 to 8 years of experience in project management and in developing and maintaining partnerships
-
Experience managing large-scale project agreements, including budget monitoring, reporting, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements

Knowledge of environmental monitoring and aquatic and terrestrial restoration
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English

Availability to travel to communities across Quebec and Labrador approximately 1 to 2 times per month

Valid Class 5 driver’s licence

Knowledge of an Indigenous language (asset)
