Join our team as a Warehouse Coordinator in Des Moines, Iowa, and play a pivotal role in the seamless operation of our distribution center. We are looking for an organized and proactive individual with a keen eye for detail and a solid understanding of warehouse logistics. The Warehouse Coordinator will oversee daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficiency in inventory management, order fulfillment, and staff supervision. This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as you'll be coordinating with various departments, carriers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of goods. You will be responsible for managing inventory levels, optimizing warehouse layout, and implementing best practices for storage and handling. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to our supply chain success.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Manage inventory control processes to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Schedule and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers.
- Supervise and train warehouse staff, providing guidance and support.
- Maintain a safe and orderly warehouse environment, enforcing all safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile any variances.
- Ensure compliance with all logistics regulations and company standards.
- Monitor warehouse equipment and arrange for maintenance as needed.
- Ensure all staff are properly trained on equipment usage and adhere to safety guidelines, including the correct use of PPE .
- This role involves regular Lifting of items up to 50 lbs and may require operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
