We are seeking a skilled Material Handler for our Virginia Beach, Virginia location to support our fast-paced logistics operations. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, loading and unloading goods, and ensuring that materials are stored and organized correctly. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, efficient, and capable of handling physical tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, containers, and warehouse storage areas.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items to designated locations.
- Stack and arrange materials in a safe and organized manner.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock management.
- Ensure that all materials are handled according to safety procedures and company guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production targets.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Valid certification or proven experience operating forklifts and other relevant equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Good communication skills.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE and following all safety procedures.
