We are hiring an Order Picker to join our busy Chicago, Illinois warehouse team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting products from our inventory to fulfill customer orders. Your primary duties will involve using order pick lists or scanning devices to locate items, ensuring the correct quantities and types of products are retrieved. This position is crucial for the efficiency of our logistics and supply chain operations, directly impacting customer satisfaction. We are looking for individuals who are energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Experience with warehouse equipment is a plus, but not required as we offer comprehensive training. A strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting are essential. You will be expected to follow all safety guidelines, including proper Lifting techniques and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in the logistics field.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves based on order tickets or RF scanners.
- Verify product codes and quantities to ensure order accuracy.
- Stage picked items for packing and shipping.
- Maintain clean and organized picking zones.
- Operate manual and powered pallet jacks safely.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or damages to supervisors.
- Meet established picking performance metrics.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including safe Lifting practices.
- Properly use and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in stock counts and inventory checks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience in a warehouse or order picking role is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret picking lists and product labels.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
- Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to adhering to safety regulations and using PPE.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
