Seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our logistics operations in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is essential for managing the inflow of goods, ensuring all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. You will be responsible for verifying contents against purchase orders, identifying discrepancies, and reporting any damages. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining organized records are crucial. This position demands adherence to strict Safety protocols and efficient handling of merchandise.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight from carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect items for damage or defects and report any issues promptly.
- Document all received items accurately in the inventory system.
- Organize and stage received goods for distribution within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and orderly receiving area.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and product labels.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform tasks including standing, walking, and moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Familiarity with basic computer systems for data entry.
- Commitment to workplace Safety and adherence to established procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
