We are expanding our operations in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and seeking a meticulous Receiving Clerk to join our team. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for the critical initial stage of our inventory management process. Your duties will include the efficient unloading of delivery trucks, precise verification of incoming goods against purchase orders, thorough inspection for any damages, and accurate entry of received items into our warehouse management system. Maintaining the integrity of our inventory is paramount, and your role directly supports our overall logistics efficiency. - Efficiently unload incoming shipments from delivery vehicles.
- Accurately compare received items with purchase orders and packing lists.
- Conduct visual inspections of all received products for damage or defects.
- Systematically log all incoming inventory into the designated warehouse management system.
- Prepare received goods for staging and put-away processes.
- Maintain the tidiness and safety of the receiving dock and associated areas.
- Safely operate material handling equipment like pallet jacks.
- Comply with all company safety protocols, including the consistent use of PPE.
- Communicate professionally with suppliers, transportation providers, and internal departments regarding deliveries.
- Support seamless logistics operations through accurate and timely receiving, minimizing stockouts and overages.
Prior experience in receiving, warehouse operations, or a related logistics field is preferred. Capability to handle moderate Lifting tasks, up to 50 pounds. Basic computer proficiency, particularly with inventory or WMS software. Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail. A solid understanding of warehouse safety best practices and the mandatory use of PPE. Ability to work autonomously and as a valued member of a team. Strong communication abilities. High school diploma or equivalent. Commitment to safety and accuracy in all logistics-related duties is essential.
