We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in San Francisco, California. The Material Handler will be responsible for efficiently receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping materials and products within our warehouse. This role is crucial to our overall supply chain operations, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of orders. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to maintain an organized and safe working environment. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to workplace safety. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a warehouse setting and be comfortable with various material handling equipment. Your role will directly impact customer satisfaction through accurate and efficient order processing.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials and products.
- Accurately pick and pack orders according to specifications.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification may be required).
- Maintain inventory accuracy through diligent record-keeping and cycle counting.
- Ensure all materials are handled safely, adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
- Participate in regular inventory audits and assist with stocktaking.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding inventory levels and operational needs.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties as needed, ensuring accurate documentation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to lifting guidelines.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
