Our Detroit, Michigan facility is seeking an experienced Warehouse Technician to join our operations. This role is critical for maintaining the functionality and efficiency of our warehouse equipment and infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure our logistics operations run smoothly and safely. Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyors, automated systems, and racking.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and the facility, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance performed, parts used, and equipment status.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide prompt repair services to minimize downtime.
- Assist with the installation, modification, and testing of new equipment.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and consumables, reordering as needed.
- Support the logistics team in ensuring operational continuity and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to address maintenance needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or associate's degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse maintenance or industrial technician role.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with various types of warehouse equipment and machinery.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions.
- Deep understanding of industrial safety standards and the correct application of PPE.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
