We are seeking a diligent Order Picker to join our warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa. This position is crucial for the efficient processing of customer orders, ensuring accuracy and timely dispatch. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately locating and retrieving items from warehouse shelves using scanning devices and other tools. Your attention to detail and speed directly contribute to our logistics operations and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and committed to working safely. - Accurately selecting items from warehouse locations based on order instructions.
- Verifying product details (item number, quantity) before and after picking.
- Using RF scanners and other picking equipment efficiently.
- Packing picked items securely for shipment.
- Staging orders in the designated areas for shipping.
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Assisting with inventory counts and stock checks as needed.
- Following all company safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Reporting any inventory discrepancies or safety hazards to supervisors.
- Working cooperatively with team members to meet operational goals.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse or order picking experience is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand picking instructions.
- Capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse logistics.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining quality.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.
