The Fire Sprinkler Designer at Total Fire Protection, Inc. is responsible for assisting in the administration of fire protection programs for the agency. This role involves providing technical assistance to architects, contractors, and other private industry personnel in interpreting and complying with fire codes and standards. The designer will recommend changes in fire codes and review construction site plans and building plans to ensure compliance with fire protection codes and standards. Additionally, the designer will evaluate the fire resistance of buildings and structures, determining whether water availability and delivery systems are adequate to protect these buildings. The position requires a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes. The designer will work cooperatively with various stakeholders to provide quality, seamless customer service. Evaluating contractors' performance in meeting agency requirements and objectives is also a key responsibility. The designer will interpret existing standards, develop new standards, review design documentation, and advise agency and contractor management regarding fire safety, property protection, and public safety. In this role, the designer will provide technical advice to contractors, architects, and engineers while reviewing system plans, monitoring code information, and conducting site inspections for new construction projects. The designer will also supervise professional-level staff, both sworn and civilian, engaged in fire prevention duties. This position offers a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
Design fire suppression systems
Prepare 2- and 3-dimensional construction documents using HydraCAD
Coordinate design efforts working closely with customers, general contractors, and architects
Evaluate contractors' performance in meeting agency requirements and objectives
Interpret existing standards and develop new standards
Review design documentation and advise agency and contractor management regarding fire safety
Provide technical advice to contractors, architects, and engineers while reviewing system plans
Monitor code information and conduct site inspections for new construction projects
Supervise professional-level staff engaged in fire prevention duties
Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and streamline work processes
Qualifications:
Technical:
NICET III
Experience with BIM Projects
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver license with a safe driving record required
Communication Skills:
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced professionals.
Experience with sales support.
Job Type:

$80000 - $100000 per year
Schedule:
8 hour shift
