Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer / Design Engineer (FTTH) Location: REMOTE Note: Must be authorised to work for any employer and willing to work on W2. As a subject matter expert in Outside Plant (OSP) engineering, you will design, plan, and drive the expansion of our advanced Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust connectivity, support digital growth, and help close the digital divide-all within a diverse and inclusive environment that values your unique experience. Responsibilities - Design and engineer outside plant projects for FTTH deployments, ensuring scalability and future readiness - Conduct proactive facility reviews to identify and implement necessary network upgrades and enhancements - Communicate with governmental agencies to gather project data and secure permits for right-of-way and easements - Coordinate with utility partners to optimize project design and joint trenching opportunities - Maintain and update accurate cable records; manage inventory for all outside plant activities - Utilize engineering tools such as FROGS/Spatial Engineer (AutoCAD-based GIS) to land base network data - Lead and participate in project teams. Required - 3-5 years' experience in outside plant engineering, preferably in a local exchange environment - Proven expertise in FTTH deployment engineering and outside plant construction - Strong project management and inventory management skills - Deep knowledge of permitting, right-of-way, and private easement processes with local, state, and federal agencies - Proficient in FROGS/Spatial Engineer, Adobe, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and vendor software - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to lead and work within diverse teams Preferred Skills - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field - Experience supporting cross-departmental initiatives in a telecommunications environment
