Join our fast-paced logistics hub in Des Moines, Iowa, as a Picker/Packer! We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to accurately and efficiently pick and pack customer orders. In this role, you will be responsible for retrieving items from warehouse shelves, ensuring order accuracy, and preparing them for shipment. Your attention to detail and speed will directly impact our ability to fulfill orders promptly and maintain high customer satisfaction. This position requires physical stamina, the ability to work with scanning equipment, and a strong commitment to following safety procedures. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders using RF scanners or pick lists.
- Verify picked items against order details for accuracy.
- Pack orders securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Label packages for shipment according to carrier requirements.
- Stage packed orders for pickup by shipping carriers.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and work area.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks as needed.
- Assist with inventory tasks and cycle counts when required.
- Contribute to overall team goals and support colleagues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in picking, packing, or warehouse roles is advantageous.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and PPE.
- Basic understanding of inventory management systems is a plus.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment: This is a physically demanding role within a dynamic warehouse setting. Employees will be expected to follow strict safety protocols, including the mandatory use of provided PPE. The environment may include varying temperatures and requires continuous movement.
