Our San Francisco, California logistics center is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist. This critical role focuses on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, ensuring optimal stock levels and efficient operations. You will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, implementing inventory control procedures, and managing stock rotation. A strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and a commitment to accuracy are essential. This position requires analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will work closely with warehouse staff and management to uphold high inventory standards and contribute to the overall efficiency of our supply chain. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Manage stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO) to minimize obsolescence.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and operations departments to resolve inventory issues.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, adjustments, and movements within the WMS.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory items.
- Develop and generate inventory reports for management review.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives related to inventory management.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate lifting (up to 30 pounds).
- Understanding of inventory control principles and logistics operations.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and the use of PPE in a warehouse setting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Working Conditions:
This role primarily involves working in a warehouse environment, requiring occasional physical activity such as walking, standing, and light lifting. Employees must comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including the appropriate use of PPE, to ensure a secure and efficient workspace. Occasional exposure to varying warehouse temperatures may occur.
