We have an immediate opening for a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Detroit, Michigan. This pivotal role is responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of all inbound and outbound freight, playing a crucial part in our supply chain and logistics operations. You will manage receiving processes, including unloading trucks, verifying shipments against documentation, and inspecting for damage. Additionally, you will prepare outgoing orders for shipment, coordinate with carriers, and maintain all necessary records. We seek a highly organized, detail-oriented, and safety-focused individual. Strong communication skills are vital for coordinating with vendors, carriers, and internal departments. This role involves significant physical activity, including material handling and Lifting. A strong commitment to workplace Safety is mandatory, along with adherence to all company policies and PPE requirements. Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and forklift operation (certification required) is highly valued. Join our growing logistics team and contribute to our operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify inbound shipments accurately.
- Inspect all goods for damage or discrepancies.
- Process incoming inventory into the WMS.
- Prepare outgoing orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and proper packaging.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for scheduling and pickups.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain organized receiving and shipping areas.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and utilize required PPE at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a Shipping & Receiving role or similar warehouse environment.
- Certified forklift operator with demonstrated experience.
- Proficiency in using WMS and other logistics software.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse Safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting tasks up to 60 lbs regularly.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic.
