We are looking for a skilled Reach Truck Operator to join our warehouse operations in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Reach Truck Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a reach truck to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is critical to maintaining the organization and accessibility of our inventory. You will work closely with the logistics and management teams to ensure optimal warehouse performance. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a reach truck to move, pick, and put away palletized goods in high-bay racking systems.
- Perform pre-operational checks on the reach truck and report any maintenance needs.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment, ensuring correct items and quantities.
- Load and unload trailers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating system locations.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety procedures and regulations, including the correct use of PPE.
- Follow instructions from supervisors regarding workflow and priorities.
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including organizing, cleaning, and potentially some manual Lifting when necessary.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the warehouse Logistics operations.
- Identify and report any safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
Qualifications:
Proven experience operating a reach truck (certification preferred, or ability to obtain). High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment. Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols. Must be able to perform physical tasks as needed, including some Lifting. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus. Ability to work flexible hours if required. Commitment to maintaining a high standard of Safety. Understanding of Logistics processes is beneficial. Must be able to work at heights and in various temperature conditions.
