Introduction Join our dynamic Materials Engineering team where you will provide technical expertise and support in the materials and process engineering of cast and/or forged products. Collaborate with our aerospace engineering teams to create innovative solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. As a key member of our team, you will participate in all phases of product development and serve as a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers.
Required Skills & Qualifications Applicants must be able to work directly for our organization on W2. Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field. 4 years of experience in materials/process engineering in the casting and/or forging industry. 4 years of experience with aerospace alloys such as aluminum, steel, titanium, and nickel. Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with specialization in Materials Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering. Advanced degree in engineering or another related field. Understanding and hands-on experience in casting and/or forging. Familiarity with industrial materials and processing specifications. Familiarity with Nadcap and industry standards, requirements, and approvals. Experience with Six Sigma, Lean, and other process improvement tools. Experience with casting and/or forging simulation tools like DEFORM. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Support the design and manufacture of cast/forged parts, including aerospace gas turbine engines used for propulsion and auxiliary power. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues and ensure compliance with industry standards. Provide technical solutions for rapid problem-solving and liaise between suppliers and engineering teams. Conduct supplier audits and assess new suppliers to determine their strengths and weaknesses. Participate in approximately 10% travel within the US to suppliers. Company Benefits & Culture
