We are hiring a meticulous Shipping Clerk for our San Diego, California distribution center. This role is essential for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting all carrier and customer requirements. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, verifying package contents, and coordinating with transport companies. This position is critical to our logistics operations, maintaining the flow of goods to our customers. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in our supply chain management.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels using our shipping software.
- Verify order details against packed items for accuracy.
- Weigh and measure packages for shipping.
- Schedule pickups with common carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.).
- Load outgoing shipments onto transport vehicles.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation.
- Communicate with other departments regarding shipment status.
- Ensure all shipments comply with regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proficiency with computers and shipping software.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Experience in a shipping or logistics environment preferred.
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
