Position Summary: The Embedded Firmware Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining C-based embedded firmware that powers electronic controls for commercial-grade products. This hands-on role involves designing firmware solutions, validating functionality on prototypes, and debugging issues across manufacturing and production environments. The ideal candidate will be a strong individual contributor with expertise in embedded systems and peripheral communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test embedded firmware using C for commercial electronics. Interface with microcontroller peripherals such as UART, I2C, Client, PWM, EEPROM, etc. Collaborate with engineering labs to validate firmware on prototypes and production units. Debug and optimize firmware performance and reliability. Document and manage firmware updates via ECNs. Utilize Git and YouTrack (or similar tools) for source control and issue tracking. Support production and manufacturing teams with firmware-related troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related. 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development. Strong experience with C programming and peripheral interfaces. Experience with Git and issue-tracking tools (e.g., YouTrack or Jira). Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with engineering documentation practices. Bonus: Lua, Storyboard UI tools, or prior project management experience.
