The Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Hardware Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and improvement of cutting-edge bioinstrumentation and microelectrode array (MEA) systems. You will work closely with biologists, software engineers, and mechanical engineers to create reliable, high-performance tools that empower scientists around the world.
Requirements
Job Duties Design, prototype, and test analog and digital circuitry for biosensing and cell-culture monitoring systems. Develop and maintain embedded firmware for real-time data acquisition and instrument control. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and translate biological research needs into engineering solutions. Support product lifecycle from concept through manufacturing, including validation, documentation, and compliance testing. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and firmware issues in existing products. Stay current with emerging technologies in PCB design, low-noise signal acquisition, and embedded systems. Technical Skills
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field 2+ years of professional experience in mixed-signal PCB design Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium Designer preferred) Experience with board-level debug using test and measurement instrumentation (multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.) Familiarity with mixed-signal circuit design, low-noise analog design, signal and power integrity (SI/PI), and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) Familiarity with high-speed signaling protocols such as USB, Ethernet, or LVDS Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative environment Technical Skills
Preferred
Experience with regulatory compliance for electrical equipment for measurement, control, and laboratory use (IEC 61010) or for medical use (IEC 60601) Knowledge of Python for data analysis and test automation Knowledge of VHDL and/or Verilog for FPGAs Knowledge of C and/or C++ for embedded systems Background in working with microelectrode arrays (MEAs) or cell-based assay systems Benefits
