Paxauris is a growing startup with a mission to improve people's lives by protecting their ears. Noise Induced Hearing Loss is the most common workplace injury worldwide, and we are developing new in-ear technology to help eliminate it.
We develop wearable in-ear systems for hearing protection and human health monitoring. We are collaborating with U.S. government research programs and commercial partners to take early-stage concepts through development, testing, and real-world deployment.

*Role Summary*
We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer excited to work at the leading edge of multi-node wireless embedded systems, in-ear devices and their biomedical interfaces and applications.
In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers to design, build, test, and document firmware and supporting software for in-ear devices. You will gain exposure to the full product development lifecycle, from ideas and early prototypes, through to production-ready systems. As Paxauris is a growing startup, employees take on a variety of additional roles and tasks to ensure the success of our projects, products, and company.
This role reports directly to the Paxauris Founder.
*Duties and Responsibilities*
* Develop multi-node wireless embedded systems to demonstrate, evaluate, and understand the performance of in-ear devices and their biomedical interfaces and applications. * Optimize battery life for in-ear devices. * Coordinate software design with DSP software vendors to incorporate new DSP features. * Develop windows software systems for data acquisition for acoustic and vibration tests. * Participate in data collection and analyzing experimental data to evaluate the performance of in-ear acoustic and biomedical devices. * Document software architecture, methods and data analysis procedures and results. * Participate in writing progress reports to support ongoing contracts. * Maintain inventory and product documentation.
*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. * Programming expertise in C, C#, Zephyr, Bluetooth. Experience with multiple IDEs, such as Visual Studio, Segger Embedded Studio, STM32CubeIDE, Visual Code. * Firmware for wireless sensors and windows software for sensor data collection. * Power management for small wireless devices. * Proven record of developing and shipping reliable products. * Embedded systems skills including bootloaders, over the air firmware updates, RTOS, threads, interrupts, error handling, API and protocol writing, state machines, flash memory management and memory map design, SPI, UART, JTAG, event based programming * Working knowledge of analog and digital circuits. Ability to understand schematics. Use laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc. * New hardware bring up and test. * Daily repository commits and management using git. * Excellent problem solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team. * Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

* Experience with accelerometers, gyros, microphones, pressure sensors, DSP software development, audio tools, Matlab, Nordic microcontrollers
*Work Environment*
* Employment is full time at Paxauris's office in Phoenix, AZ. Off-site work and travel may be required to production facilities to work with suppliers and to support customer pilot studies. xawqmyg Supervisor approved flexible work hours and remote workdays are possible if most efficient for work product.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
