We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Jacksonville, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. This role is crucial to our warehouse operations, ensuring timely and accurate handling of goods. You will be an integral part of a fast-paced environment where safety and precision are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move pallets, cases, and other materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers accurately and efficiently.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and report any issues immediately.
- Identify and report damaged goods and any safety hazards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist with inventory control by accurately recording movement of goods.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Understand and follow instructions provided by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a forklift operator.
- Valid forklift certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform physical labor and frequent lifting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime as needed.
